Maybe I should explain why? Well my mother, some 27 years ago contacted her Church in a rapture state of newly engagedness. She was told she would have to get her complete Baptismal Record from her home church... No problem you're thinking... until you find out that church is in Communist Cuba... where religion is outlawed.
So my poor mother, raised in the Catholic Church, who attended Catholic School her entire life was denied a "real wedding." Ever since then she's been a little less than enthused about weddings.
So when I came to her asking for her advice about a Catholic wedding she was even LESS enthused.
It was because of this I turned to blogs like Weddingbee and Offbeat Bride for advice... because well I didn't want to keep rubbing it in her face. I realized how hard it must be for her to both be very excited for her daughter and be very regretful and sad at the same time.
I know weddings are supposed to be joyous occasions but sometimes they don't have the same connotations for everyone. Do you have any situations like this in your family? If so, how are you being mindful of those who didn't get to have the same joyous celebration?

OH man.... that is not a good situation, I can't blame her for feeling that way!!!! I hope she will be able to find joy and excitement as you get closer and closer to your wedding.

@kjpugs It was only really a bad situation before she told me about it- once she explained what happened it made me a lot more compassionate and a lot less likely to be upset with her.
But thanks for your kind words, because sometimes it still gets me down. :o)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I hope you wedding plans move ahead smoothly!
