There's nothing like opening up your mailbox to find little shimmery azalea colored envelopes. I wanted to share with my readers some of my favorite things about my RSVPs. I love our little rudimentary filing system for the RSVPs...
I also love our RSVP by date. You see my Abuelita who passed away last year would have been 80 on 7/17/2010 so I wanted to honor her memory in a small way on our RSVPs. No one was supposed to notice but I got a lot of happy-tear phone calls from my family thanking me for it. Just looking at her birthday gives me the warm-fuzzies....
Moving onto more funny things... we got some wacky write-ins. Now, we had pretty standard/formal invitations so you wouldn't really expect anything more exciting than "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and then the number "2". But here are some highlights...
The last one is extra special funny, because I had asked my mom on SEVERAL occasions to send me her list. Well she never did, despite my constant pestering. My mom decided to invite her best friend Elena without telling me, and then called me to say she had invited Elena and would that be okay? Oh Moms!
And of course they wouldn't be complete without our secret code....this is what you see....
And this is what we see...
Did your RSVPs make you cry, laugh, and smile like mine did? Or am I crazy?

I always tend to write a little note on people's rsvps when I send it in - especially if we have to decline. Never anything about 12 goats, but maybe I'll try that one next time :)
So smart about the secret code too. I've always heard about doing it small on the back, but how did you manage the black light/glow in the dark?
The purple pen in the first two shots is actually an invisible ink pen that shows up under black light, which is also built into the pen so you can write any identification onto the RSVP that you want. I bought it here: http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Write-Secret-Invisible-Black/dp/B000O896M6
Blacklight pen = pure genius! I usually try to write something on the card too. Th "17" is funny too! LOL
And 12 goats, haha!
That was so sweet to have your grandma's birthday there :)
And what's the code for?
@Amberdawn it's a code system relating to our guest list, so JUST IN CASE someone doesn't write down their name or put in a return address we know who it came from.
wow i LOVE your RSVP cards!!! so pretty! i haven't gotten mine out in the mail yet but as it is, i love getting mail so i can't even imagine what it will be like to start getting responses :)
haha, i love the 12 goats! write-ins are the bestest! and that is seriously a sweet way of remembering your abuelita.
