Case #2: For Valentine's day, another day we agreed not to get presents for each other on.... I received the complete series of Coupling. A show I missed alot since I moved back to the U.S.
Case #3: This year, as usual. We agreed on not purchasing gifts (anyone else thinking I'm the only one who listens to the rules?) but the fiancé admitted he has bought something. Egad! How out of character! (Insert Eye Rolling).
But a Kindle really? How do I compete?! Well this year I have hunted down what I will get for him. But HOW? Christmas has passed! Well ladies and gentlemen that is where my Cuban background steps in. We do not Celebrate "Christmas" until the 3 wise men actually come to little baby Jesus. This is known in Cuba as Three Kings Day and in the U.S. as Epiphany. So I actually had until January 6th (today) to get him his gifts. And yes, we have kept the tree up this long.
Before I reveal my thoughtful and wonderful Three Kings Day/Christmas gift to my fiancé let me first show you how beautiful our venue looks at Christmas-time.... It's called the Festival of Lights and they do it every year. Below is a picture of our reception venue all lit up!
That picture was the inspiration for the hunt to end all Christmas gift hunts! I remembered there is a store in the Patio de Las Campanas (Patio of the Bells) that's called Feliz Navidad. Certainly they would have beautiful ornaments, no? Judge for yourself...
The ornament on the left depicts the Chapel we're getting married in, and the ornament on the right is a depiction of the bell tower in the Patio de Las Campanas. So I finally feel like I've figured this whole gift-giving thing out!
Did your wedding venue or location inspire Hannukah, Christmas, or Birthday gifts?

Those are some sweet ornaments! I love the one of your chapel :)
What a thoughtful gift - and your inspiration for it is so meaningful. Your wedding venue looks lovely as well.
PS - I got a Kindle for Christmas too - and I love it!
@Penga Thanks! Feliz Navidad does them often for December wedding favors.
@Pip Pip and All That: Can I just say I was uber excited that you commented on a post of mine, I love your blog! And isn't the Kindle a bit like crack for avid/speed readers?
