When Mr. AZ and I sat down to discuss rings the first thing I insisted on was a conflict-free diamond that didn't break the bank. While we had a large budget to work with, I didn't feel it a practical expense. So we started researching alternatives including the above website and antique stores. Antique stores offered limited selection. So we turned our focus to I Do Now I Don't hoping they would have a wider selection.
But we were scared of ordering off the internet, I mean this is my engagement ring we're talking about and I wouldn't want to get ripped off. We quickly read reviews from CNN and other reliable sources.
Through our research both on their site and off we found out that an accredited gemologist inspects each ring to ensure that what the seller said was accurate and only then will your money be transferred to the seller. In addition to being appraised by a 3rd party jeweler they also send you an appraisal with your ring! Cutting one thing off your list, and getting it on your insurance policy even faster.
They ship the ring via UPS, it is insured and it must be signed for by someone over 21 with a drivers license approved by you. All in all working with I Do Now I Don't was one of the best things we did, I sincerely recommend it. I stress that not every ring listed is is at such a good discount, but if you "stalk a ring" you will notice the seller will often re-list it at a lower price if no one bids on it. We waited perhaps a month and in that time the seller came down $1000.
All in all this was a fabulous transaction for Mr. AZ and I. We got a quality stone, beautiful rings, and wonderful customer service. The only thing that lacked was UPS was unable to give us "appropriate" delivery dates so we wound up just going to their store to pick up and sign.
Did you consider means other than the large chains to purchase your rings? What motivated you?

What a nifty idea...We...well I looked into this for a while, when I realized that we could get a huge savings. In the end we went another route, but it still seems like a great idea!
@loveisyouloveisus We ended up saving $9000 on my rings. We looked at antique stores and on IDoNowIDont. Just like any other website this one can be a hit or miss, thankfully I really liked my ring which had an amazing starter price :o)
They do inside trading. Good diamonds they keep it to themselves and say its rejected by the gemologist but when a bad quality diamond you end up buying they will surely send it to you. I don't trust these guys for a second. Bought a diamond and lost thousands.
This anonymous comment above has been on most websites I've been looking at for reviews... almost word for word, like their just copying and pasting everywhere they can. Seems like someone is trolling to me.
Thanks for the review of the website, AZ in August! I found it on a search for reviews.
:)
I have patiently searched on idonowidont for about 4-5 months. Every time when i spotted a good ring and made a offer, the ring was sold almost the next day. It seems someone else is able to screen my emails sent to the sellers and waiting for me to do all the search then cut me loose. This cutting never happened to the rings with unreasonable prices although they are nice. Also, I think most the sellers there are the jewelers selling their own goods. You can tell by reading their descriptions and looking at their photos. Same commercial style and tone, not really good deals! Good deal rarely comes to actual end users.
