So I finally did it, I sat down [before heading to a Cardinals game- Go Cards!] and did my DIY makeup trial. And for you ladies "DIYing it" I have learned some lessons.... come along and watch...

You may not think I am wearing makeup, but you would be OH-SO-WRONG. I am wearing a heavy amount (for me of foundation, blush and eyeshadow) but the only thing you really see is the lips.

Bridal Blemishes

Well I'd like to introduce you to some beauty products in my life that really help me out. Olay, Wexler and Burt. No I'm not cheating, I'm taking care of my skin! Well to be more specific I am taking care of my combination blemish-prone skin. I've tried a lot of different types of creams and spot treatments before. I want to share the trio I looooove!

With combination skin you try a lot of moisturizers in order to find one that makes your dry spots better and doesn't flare up your oily patches. The best I've found is...

The most amazing thing about this moisturizer is that it can stand up to both the Desert Southwest's heat and arid in the winter and summer. Our summer is often referred to, lovingly, as similar to sticking one's head into an oven. That saying my friends is true. So when you find a moisturizer that can stand the heat- you stay in the kitchen so to speak.

 I absolutely love this saciliyac acid- but it's definitely harsh and I can't always use it in the summer because the drying properties of the spot treatment in combination with the 110+ degree weather is UBER drying and not so good for your skin.

So this is my summer-alternative, Burt's Blemish Stick. I plan on being very good friends with this guy come August (aka Wedding Month).
