Brown Sugar

When most of us think of Weddings we think of the black tuxedo or at the very least a black suit. But sometimes black isn't flattering on all men. Black is very harsh and very stark. It's what I liken to the WHITE WHITE gown, only in this case, for the groom.

Especially in the case of a groom with auburn or red hair, who tend to have more ruddy complexions, just like Mr. AZ. Now I'm not saying that Alan looks bad in this black suit above, but it really does bring out the redness of his skin tone. In that case I vote for deep dark brown. This earthy tone takes away a lot of ruddiness from the face and is more universally flattering, in my humble opinion.

This is when we fell in love with brown, when we realized it was much more softening like ivory. Are you taking into account your groom's skin tone when picking out the suits or tuxes your guys will be wearing?

Seriously isn't that detail shot of the vest with the pocket watch amazing? P.S. Mr. AZ has his great grandfather's pocket watch just like that, which would be a rockin' wed-cessory. Oh and I love the fact that it's another way to single out the groom from his groomsmen like in the very last photo.

Suit Up!

So I have to admit... I'm not a tux gal... there's something about the impersonalness of a not-so-greatly fitting  rental tux. They never fit quite right and I end up imagining some poor dude at prom.

I just love the look of a well tailored suit. And since my fiance and his 2 groomsmen all have black suits... well that's the way we're going!

But in order to make them look like they match, since they'll be wearing different but similar black suits we did want to buy them ties to match the bridesmaids.... remember them...

Pretty tall order wouldn't you say? So we trucked it up to Scottsdale and hit up the DESIGNER Nordstrom's Rack (seriously they have these- and they are awesome) we found some amazing BCBG silk ties normally priced at $50 for $15!!! And they were our color palette in TIE FORM.... no seriously...

But don't worry readers... we're going to make it slightly less girly (I mean we are making them wear red and pink ties) with our groomsmen's gifts...why yes I love a Guinness- how did you know?!
